Identification
Rufous-brown above, darkest on back, dusky below with rufous sheen on upper breast. Top of head and rear of neck rufous brown, sides of head and throat pale grey. Upper mandible black, lower yellow with black tip, legs olive.
Length 27cm.
Distribution
South-east Venezuela: Known from Cerros Ptari-tepuí and Sororopán-tepuí in south-east Bolivar. Resident.
Taxonomy
This species is monotypic.[1]
Habitat
Cloud forest at 1,350-1,800m. The only tinamou at this altitude on the two tepuis.
