Storm's Stork - BirdForum Opus

Identification

91cm. Black and white plumage, red bill, orange bare facial skin, red legs and yellow orbital skin. Both sexes are similar. The young has duller plumage and bare skin.

Distribution

Sumatra, Mentawai Islands, Borneo and peninsular Malaya.

Taxonomy

It was formerly considered as a subspecies of the Asian Woolly-necked Stork.

Habitat

Forest and freshwater.

Behaviour

The diet includes fish. 2 eggs are laid in stick platform nest high in trees canopy.
