Distribution

Southeast Asia: found in Indochina, Myanmar, Laos, Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand, Malaysia, Malay Peninsula, Indonesia, Greater Sundas and Sumatra.

Taxonomy

Formerly placed in genus Ficedula.

Subspecies

There are 3 subspecies^[1]:

• A. s. submonileger:

• Mountains of south-eastern Myanmar to peninsula Thailand and southern Vietnam

• A. s. malayana:

• Mountains of Malay Peninsula

• A. s. solitaris:

• Mountains of Sumatra

Habitat

Montane forests.

Behaviour

They look for food on the ground.
