Tinamotis pentlandii

Location: Above Ticlio Pass, ca. 100 km NE of Lima, Peru

Identification

41 cm in length

  • Upperparts are brown spotted with white
  • Blue-grey breast
  • Rufous belly
  • Head is white streaked with black

Distribution

Andes of Peru to northern Bolivia, Chile, and northwestern Argentina.[1]

Taxonomy

This is a monotypic species.[1]

Habitat

High altitude grassland.
