Distribution
Western Africa: found only in Cameroon and restricted to Mount Cameroon.

This is a monotypic species[1].
Formerly placed in genus Francolinus.
Habitat
Montane primary and secondary forest and associated clearings.
Behaviour
Terrestrial.
Diet
The diet includes berries, grass seeds and insects.
Conservation Status
Classified as Endangered in the 2007 IUCN Red List (BirdLife International, 2007).
