Eritrea, Ethiopia, Kenya, Oman, Saudi Arabia, Somalia, Sudan, Tanzania, Uganda, and Yemen.

Taxonomy

Subspecies

There are 2 subspecies^[1]

• M. r. rufocinereus:

• Eritrea, Ethiopia, northern Somalia, southern South Sudan, north-eastern Uganda, Kenya, and northern Tanzania

• M. r. sclateri:

• south-western Arabian Peninsula (south-western Saudi Arabia and western Yemen)

Forests, savanna and shrubland
