Distribution
Northern Australia (Pilbara, Western Australia to north-western and central Queensland)
Taxonomy
This is a monotypic species.
Formerly placed in the genus Lichenostomus.
Habitat
Open semi-arid woodlands particularly in sandstone ridges.
Behaviour
Diet
Their diet consists mostly of insects and spiders. Also nectar and occasionally fruit.
