South America: found in south-western Ecuador and north-western Peru.

Taxonomy

This is a monotypic species[1].

Arid scrub. Equatorial dry forest at ca. 70 m (230 ft) elevation. Riparian thickets.

Behaviour

Diet

Their diet consists almost entirely of insects.
