Identification
12·7–13·5 cm (5-5¼ in)
- Brown olive above
- Pale yellow belly
- White throat
- Brown breast
- 2 pale buff wing-bars
- Flat bill, black upper mandible and a yellow lower mandible
Distribution
Caribbean and South America:
Caribbean: Lesser Antilles and Trinidad
South America: Colombia, Venezuela, Guyana, Suriname, French Guiana, Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia, Brazil, Paraguay, Uruguay and Argentina.
Taxonomy
This is a polytypic species[1] consisting of 5 subspecies:

- L. e. euleri:
- South-eastern Brazil to north-eastern Argentina; winters to Peru, Bolivia and Brazil
An additional subspecies johnstonei is generally considered to be invalid[2].
Habitat
Woodland, humid forest, secondary growth, open forest borders, often near bamboo.

Diet
The diet includes insects, beetles, bugs, ants, cicadas and spiders.
