Identification

Distribution

South America: found in western Ecuador and extreme north-western as well as north central Peru.

Taxonomy

Subspecies

Two subspecies are recognized[1].

  • C. b. buckleyi - western Ecuador (north to northern Esmeraldas) and extreme northwestern Peru (Tumbes and Piura)
  • C. b. dorsti - north central Peru (upper Marañón Valley in Cajamarca and Amazonas)

Habitat

Dry shrubland and dry forest.
