Turdidae is a family in the Order Passeriformes.
The genera Neocossyphus, Pseudocossyphus and Monticola are sometimes also placed within the Old World Flycatchers Muscicapidae. Furthermore the taxonomic placement of Geomalia is not clear. This species may well not be a Thrush at all and is sometimes placed within the Babblers Timaliidae.
