The ten species of this family are quite diverse in morphological and biological aspects.

Melanocharitidae is a family in the order Passeriformes.
The species of this family have in the past been placed in the Honeyeaters, Flowerpeckers or Sunbirds.
Crested Berrypecker and Tit Berrypecker might also belong to this family.
