Genus: Ceratogymna
Description
Two large African Hornbills.
- Females with much smaller casques than males
- Predominantly black plumage
- Blue pendulous wattles
Like the genus Bycanistes they live in forests and their behaviour is similar to the Asian Hornbills.
Taxonomy
Ceratogymna is a genus in the Family Bucerotidae.
The six species of the genus Bycanistes were formerly included in this genus.
