Identification

Length about 70 cm
Greyish plumage with an inconspicuous crest, black legs, bill and eyes.

Distribution

Chaco of Paraguay and adjacent Bolivia to central Argentina.

Taxonomy

This is a monotypic species[1].

Habitat

Dry woodland and savanna.

Behaviour

Diet

Food: Invertebrates and small vertebrates.

Breeding

November to December; they nest in trees. The clutch consists of 2 eggs.
