Grey Plover (my first) (Pluvialis squatarola)

A Grey Plover at Lake Lothing, Lowestoft on Sunday. Quite a common bird but this is the first time I have been close enough to one to get any shots. Ron

Superb image here....sadly the one I photographed recently has died. It appeared to have been injured, a great shame.
 
Super close-up Ron, cracking little waders, congrats on a fine newbie mate.
 
Congratulations Ron, with their plaintive cry and solitary way of life
they seem such sad birds, but it seems they are very territorial and
will fight any other GPs that come too close, great shot mate!
