Golden Plover (my first) (Pluvialis apricaria)

A Golden Plover at Lake Lothing, Lowestoft on Sunday. At the time I took this there was also 2 Grey Plovers, a Ringed Plover, a Redshank and a Dunlin, all within shooting distance so I wasn't sure which one to go for. I think I could have done better with this shot but it is the third new bird for my Gallery from that memorable day. Ron

Wow...what a day that was Ron, three newbies for your gallery! Well done and congratulations mate :t:

Ron, it's a beautiful shot, a lovely bird, lot's of detail and a super setting. So stop criticizing and post some more. It's well composed too although I was trying to work out if that is a brick on the shore!!!?

Thanks for the kind comments. Yes Kim, it is a brick. Lake Lothing is an inland extension of Lowestoft harbour and has been a base for ship building and repairs for many, many decades. There are lots of old buildings and crumbling structures in the area so I suppose it is inevitable that bricks and debris will find their way into the water. It's not a very glamorous location but it has character. Ron
