I was a bit too early (and impatient) for most of the week, and it wasn't as if I wasn't going to get one at all, but I was getting fed up finding Waxwings. I don't usually see any Spring Waxwings, but this year I've found them in 2 separate weeks with an empty spell in between.
I know what you mean- its always going to be a long, WW summer, but it becomes an irritation if everyone else is posting about them and you're still waiting.
Probably the most Willow Warblers I've encountered in a single morning today. It felt like they were a constant accompaniment to my walk from just after 0600 till around 1030.
