Watched Blackbird build nest over a couple of weeks 2metres outside backdoor (in clump of ivy) Very friendly bird didn't mind people coming an going. Three days ago three eggs hatched. This morning 20-05-2011 a local cat no collar or bell on, killed (murdered) the female bird. Resulting in all chicks dying. A fourth egg was partially pecked open as the final chick had tried to hatch.
Would cat owners please at least put a bell on there pets to give are feathered friends at least a chance.
