i saw a duck in falkirk, scotland, yesterday and didnt know what it was as i had never seen it before. after researching the internet i have discovered that it is an american wood duck. is this unusual?

Wood Ducks are popular ornamental wildfowl and occasionally escape from captivity. For this reason they can potentially be seen anywhere in the UK. There have been colonies in the past but so far none have proved self-sustaining.
