Wilson's Phalarope - darker head? (CO USA) (1 Viewer)

We saw a group of 5 on a lake today, all male I think judging by the mottled backs, but one had a darker head with no white stripe down the back, and a generally dark face. Is this a known plumage variant, a possible hybrid...?
