White-Eared or White-Cheeked Bulbul? Abu Dhabi (1 Viewer)

Hi

No pictures for this one I'm afraid; just returned from a business trip to Abu Dhabi. A very common bird in the environs of the hotel was what I assumed to be White-Cheeked Bulbul, but now I wonder if it was White-Eared. Very tame, almost exactly house sparrow sized (mixed with House Sparrow). It had a crest, but this was not always raised or noticeable.

Just wondering which of the two was most likely? Realize I can't be definite just on the above info.

Thanks in advance

Andrew
