Which Thrush? South central Pennsylvania - 12/1/2012 (1 Viewer)

It's just a flesh wound.

I saw this thrush a few days ago.

Hermit Thrush would be the default winter thrush here, but the spots don't seem bold enough and I never got a look at it's back.

What do you think?

Mike

Hermit is truly the only non-bluebird non-robin thrush that should be in your area now. I can make out a thin, complete eye ring and a little rufous color on the wings and tail, so I see nothing against Hermit.

I had initially assumed that it was a Hermit Thrush, but when I was looking through my pictures I was bothered by the spots.

Thanks for the help,
Mike
