Where's Harry? (1 Viewer)

Nice to know I've been missed!;-)Seawatching has been poor on the south coast for some time now,but there's been some unbelievable birds seen off the west coast:eek:n the 23rd some visiting British birders had a "Soft-plumaged" off the Bridges of Ross, while more British birders had a Little Shearwater off Brandon Head the same day.On the 28th(?),1 "Soft-plumaged",1 Little Shearwater and 1 Wilson's Petrel were off the Bridges, with another "Soft-plumaged" in Co.Donegal about the 29th or 30th.
In addition,Wilson's Petrels seemed to be a daily occurrence for a while at the Bridges.
The funny thing is that last Friday the winds were SW,but all the best seawatching(both in terms of quality and quantity)was to be had on the W coast.I was at the Old Head for 3-4 hours, and only had 3 Great Shears,3 Bonxies and 1 Sooty!!!!
Went to Tacumshin yesterday,as the "American" Golden Plover had been tentatively reidentified as a "Pacific" on Fri.evening.Saw it down to 15 feet for hours, but ID still uncertain!(if it was a Pacific,it would be a new bird for me)Great views of 2 2nd-cal male Marsh Harriers(a scarce but increasingly regular visitor to Ireland, where they bred until the early 20th century),also 1 "ringtail" Hen Harrier and 1 juv.Curlew Sandpiper.
Conditions may be good for the Bridges again about Tue or Wed,so I may head up there then...
