My wife and I are visiting the area of the Peak District around Bakewell next week. Can anyone suggest good birdwatching sites in the area?

Thanks

Lathkill Dale, between Bakewell and Monyash, usually holds the thre western oakwoods specialists, Pied Fly, Redstart and Wood Warbler plus Dipper in the river at the lower end.

Anywhere round there should be good for "tarts" ticks. ;)

"tarts" "Bakewell" - geddit?

Oh alright, suit yourselves - bad twitchers joke...

Well, in fairness both are correct, but only the pudding is endemic so I suppose I should withdraw the pun, what with it not being a current pun....
