Hi

Just 2 weeks till our stay in Colyton in East Devon, and wondered if anyone could share any good places for Barn Owl and Med Gull.

We intend to travel around a bit, so anywhere in East or South Devon would be do-able though somewhere more local for Barn Owl would probably be easier.

Thanks!

Hi,

Very near to you are Barn Owls, plus plenty of Little Owls. Especially in Musbury/Boshill Cross/Lower Bruckland area.

You will see Med Gulls on the River Axe.

Good news John, your ambitions could well be fulfilled without having the leave the magnificent splendour of the Axe Estuary Wetlands! Waders a-plenty today too, so get out on the marshes and soak up the surroundings. For more local patch gen, pop into the biodiversity exhibition in Seaton's Harbour Road car park opened by volunteers on tuesday thursday and saturdays.

Thanks guys, Axe Estuary sounds a real gem. What a stroke of luck booking Colyton - we had no idea how good the area is for birds, we just booked it cos' it was central and available at Bank Holiday.

Can't be all day birding as our 9 yo has to be entertained too, but look forward to getting out and about as much as we can.

Good birding!
