Hi,

Is this a Citrine or a Yellow, and why? Photographed low down against a stream, in Feb.

Thanks,

Richard

With those upperparts, if it was here I'd be trying hard to make it a Citrine! Not 100% up to speed with all the eastern races of flava though

Hi Richard,

It's a female Citrine, as already stated, and a smart one at that. As BBB has said the white wing bars & edging to the coverts & tertials being thick & well marked together with the grey mantle & bright yellow face seperate this from Yellow Wag.

Cheers, Neil.
