On the news this a.m. they were talking about squirrels attacking people in NYC and actually biting the humans. I wonder what would cause this. Here's a short video from NYC which I found after hearing the news story.


A google search brought up many articles about this. I wonder why this is happening.
 
I've heard of Grey Squirrels in London parks mugging humans for cigarettes, having become nicotine addicts by chewing dropped butts.

This looks more serious and the fact that rodents including squirrels can be a reservoir for rabies is a definite worry.
