Ein einziges Exemplar dieser ohne Zweifel unterschriebenen Art wurde der Bremer Sammlung durch den am Gabon etablierten Kaufmann Herrn Brehmer aus Lübeck zugesandt.

The Eponym Dictionary of Birds claims:
Blue-headed Wood Dove Turtur brehmeri Hartlaub, 1865
Brehmer (DNF) was a nineteenth-century German trader in Gabon.

The Key to Scientific Names
Heinrich Brehmer (fl. 1865) German trader in the Gaboon (Turtur).


According here Heinrich Brehmer (1832-1866)
...des Lübecker Kaufmannes Heinrich Brehmer ( geb. in Lübeck 14.4.1832 , gest . in Gabun 1. oder 15.10.1866 ) aus dem Jahre 1861. Brehmer hat sich von 1853 bis zu seinem Tode mit Unterbrechungen in Afrika aufgehalten und die Lübecker Museen mit ethnographischen und zoologischen Materialien aus verschiedenen Teilen Westafrikas bedacht .
