Dr Bethel F. Fleming née Harris (b.1901) was a medical missionary in India and wife of Dr Robert Lee Fleming Sr, an ornithologist (co-author of Birds of Nepal with Reference to Kashmir and Sikkim 1979) and educational administrator. They were in Nepal initially to watch birds but returned (c.1949–c.1962) and founded a hospital in Kathmandu (1959). The couple's full story can be read in Grace Fletcher's biography, The Fabulous Flemings of Kathmandu: the Story of Two Doctors in Nepal (1965).
