Trefil Quarries (1 Viewer)

A Welsh birder in Dorset!
This is another upland site in gwent. This is the last location in the county where ring ouzel can be found along with other upland species such as wheatear, meadow pipit and skylark.

Due to the amount of heather, moorland species can be found including red grouse, merlin and hen harrier in winter. Also the quarries are one of the best places to see ravens in the county as you can look down on them flying and displaying down in the deep forested valley.

Is this the same Quarry that the Trail bikes use?
It certainly is!Along with burnt out stolen cars, fridges etc.You know the usual filth that these scumbags leave lying around. But as Luke and VB said it is also an excellent birding site.
