The law regarding Tree Felling? (1 Viewer)

This photo shows where an area of forest in North Antrim, has been felled & cleared during the past two weeks.

Tree Harvest!

The reason I post this is because I'm just curious to know what the law is, regarding when tree felling permits can be applied for?

Shouldn't they link in with the time restrictions on Hedge Cutting & if so, surely it's way past the time when all such activity should have ceased?

I know migrants like Warblers have only just returned to these forests during the last few days, but many of the resident birds have already started nesting. In fact, I heard young birds cheeping in a Hedgerow nest just yesterday morning.
