Switzerland 2022…and all that Jazz! (2 Viewers)

Thanks jurek,
I agree Switzerland has great birds and mammals.
Many of my owl observations have been hidden, but I supposed it is the best.
Just get out and enjoy that nature!

Talking of Mammals, locally we have Badgers, Marders, Hedgehogs, Foxes, and various Mice and Shrews.
List of observations are found on Ornitho.ch

Yesterday a quick visit to Klingnauersee. Normally I avoid weekends as too many cyclists, dog walkers etc.
Quite quiet concerning birds -no sign of the Cetti Warbler, Great Bitterns, Goshawk or Siberian Chiffchaff.
Birds seen included Pintails, Kingfishers, Great White and Little Egret, Red Kites, Green Sandpiper, Tree Sparrows.
A very nice visit with Blue skies and not too cold!

When I started birding in Switzerland, I started collecting all the Alpine specialities. One mountain animal I still did not see is Snow Vole. They are sometimes reported by chance, even under tourist huts and rest places. Anybody?

Not had any luck with Snow Vole either, looking back on Ornitho.ch there seem to be plenty up ‘in them thar mountains’, Col de Bretolet has them so à September visit there could be a good combination of bird migration watch and ‘vole patrol‘!!

I searched on Ornitho.ch and several reported (over 2021)..over 2000 m.
