Sri Lanka: current situation around Anaradhapura (1 Viewer)

Has anyone recently visitted the region around Anaradhapura? I will be traveling in Sri Lanka independently for a month in may/june and would like to (try to) visit Wilpattu Nt Park, west of Anaradhapura. But the situation seems to get worse in the Northern region (I already skipped my Trincomale-plans after the bombing last week). I'd also like some info on Sigiria and where to stay in Mirissa.. I am looking for simple private cabins, preferably in a natural setting...

By the way, I am also looking for a hotel/hostal near the airport or near Colombo, (on the way to Kitulagala) in good birding surroundings. Does anyone have a tip for a nice quiet place set in a natural environment? Just to get some rest after the long flight.
