Spider ID (1 Viewer)

Clive Watson

Looks like I picked the wrong week to quit ampheta
Someone I know asked for an ID on this spider, so I thought I'd post it somewhere that someone could see it who knew what they were talking about. It was taken in her garden in Weybridge in Surrey (the mesh is actually from a trampoline). No idea about size, presumed fairly big. I can probably find out if it helps.

Many thanks for that. I've had an alternative possible ID of a female Eresus niger (Ladybird spider). Given its rarity, it seems highly unlikely to me. But does it look like one?
