I know this is not birds but maybe someone can help me!

I am going to Japan from mid October and would be interested if anyone could tell me if its possible to see Snow Monkeys at the hot springs at this time of year? best place to see them? I will be based in Tokyo most of the time and also in Kyoto for some of the time.
Would appreciate ANY info or websites pointing me in the right direction or day tours etc.
