Singapore Field Guide (1 Viewer)

I have a two / three day stop over in Singapore on the way to New Zealand which I do have a field guide for. I am rather new to bird watching so can anyone recommend a suitable 'LIGHT WEIGHT' (in both senses of the word) bird guide for this short period of time in Singapore?

Craig Robson's Birds of Southeast Asia is very good. It's reasonably lightweight, although there maybe better options in this regard.

Many thanks Andrew. Had a quick look on the web. It's a bit more than I had wanted to pay for such a brief period, which has to include 'sight seeing' with my wife. But I suppose it could be good investment for any future visits to the far east.

Not sure whether this is too late for you.

There's a small photographic guide and pocket book titled "Birds of Peninsular Malaysia and Singapore" by GWH Davison and Chew Yen Fook, published by New Holland. It was my first book on birds before I had Robson's.

Well, not a typical fieldguide, but there is an online book on Singapore's birds being developed here (or actually more directly here). The birds which have been finished have quite a lot of info. Guess there'll be more birds to come.

you can buy solely Singapore field guides easily in the bookshops in Singapore. I've got a couple but I can't remember the titles off the top of my head.
