Seabirds from cargo boats (1 Viewer)

Is it any good? Anyone has some experience?

Seems like a 'cheap' (better: less expensive) option to sail some of the least visited seas worldwide, and in the end, you are getting somewhere.

I have looked at some of these trips but they are sometimes no cheaper than a cruise.
They will obviously be less busy than a cruise ship though.
There are some great cruise ship deals out there with great birdwatching opportunities. In fact I have enjoyed seawatching from ships more so than from land.
Another consideration:the cruise ships will schedule to stop every day or every other day so there are great birdwatching possibilities as you sail in or out of port.
Many cargo ships will be going from A to B and back.
Also if you plan ahead you can see some good birds during port days. The Carribean is a great example:the islands are small and you can easily get to some good habitats within half an hour or less from the ports.
If you went that way on a cargo ship you could have many birdless days crossing the Atlantic.
Fly/cruise and you cut out the boring bits.
One of the better cheaper cruises are those doing the Eastern Meditteranean especially during migration season.
Saw a lot of migrating birds doing a Cyprus,Turkey,Israel,Egypt cruise during early April.
