S2950 or S4000 (1 Viewer)

I'm close to replacing my old Kodak easyshare Z740 and I'm looking at the S2950 and S4000. I only use a camera for record shots and for my own satisfaction but I would none the less like to take a step or two up!

The two main things that I would want to use a new camera for would be macro and birds, so would one of these two fit my needs?

I've added a few shots from the Kodak to show the point that I'm at with it and would like to improve from, thanks.001.JPG

For not much more than a S4000 (in the UK mind) is the HS20, with some very good used bargains too now the HS30 has come out. The HS series is well rated for macro, and has 30x zoom for birds. Another feature of the HS series is the EVF, although I have noticed some newer S series fuji's have an EVF. However if the S is still your choice I would get a big a zoom as possible for the birds. Happy shopping.
