To 15 September: a few more 10 July-15 Sep. and already have most of
the returning autumn migrants I usually see on the list.
NTS Threave Estate:
86. Moorhen
87. Marsh harrier
88. Hobby (my first seen in Scotland)
89. Gadwall
and locally
90. Greater black-backed gull
91. Greeenfinch
92. Ringed plover
93. Knot
94. Tawny owl (heard)
95. Yellow wagtail
so, 5 to go this winter for reaching the first 100 in a year within a 20 mile radius
(Seen in this period within the radius was: autumn incoming large goldfinch flocks, greylag geese, starling flocks, lapwing, mallard, teal, jay, also osprey, red kite, reed bunting, meadow pipit, pheasant, wood pigeon, crow, raven, heron, mute swan, buzzard, pied wagtail, song thrush, robin, wren, swallow, sand and house martin. Seen locally included sparrowhawk, jackdaw, house sparrow, starling, collared dove, great tit, blackbird, robin, swift, swallow, house martin, estuary gulls and cormorant numbers on local estuary up to 14 this summer, heron, oystercatcher, curlew, rock pipit).
