Do the BLSTC follow IOC, or do the IOC tend to follow BLSTC, or are they just making their own independent decisions?

• Tenerife Robin (E. superbus) – teneriffarödhake
• Gran Canaria Robon (N. marionae) – grancanariarödhake

Amazing how fast is evolution these days. Several papers could not find meaningful differences in robins on Canaries, but they exist now. 5 years ago Gran Canaria had no endemic birds, now it has two.

It's almost as if different studies can reach different conclusions, based on methods and sample sizes not available to past research groups, and consideration of different sets of evidence!

What a weird move. These are very, very closely related taxa.
I assume it is based on the following paper, with the view that any already accepted species must not be made paraphyletic in any way by the paper's sometimes curious findings:

Here are Jim's papers. How many taxonomic papers have you contributed to?
I have no idea who he is, how would I know, it was a simple question, if Jim wants to take offence, he's big enough to do it himself.

My question stands as a matter of curiosity, as far as I know, nomenclaturism, is a separate disicipline from genetics?
