Red Sea Resort of Taba (1 Viewer)

I am thinking of missing the usual melee and scrums of Scilly in October and having a holiday with my wife in the Red Sea resort of Taba for about the same price as a Scilly holiday for two. There are lots of reports for the southern Sinai resorts but Taba is some 200kms north of Sharm-el-Sheikh.

I would appreciate any info from anyone who knows the area

Cheers

I don't know anything about the area I'm afraid but I would be interested to know where you might be buying the hoLiday from; I too have had similar thoughts about the cost of Scilly, especially in "Teachers Week" (half term, when our family have to go), but haven't found anything in Egypt quite in the price range of Scilly yet...

Sean,

Not really a Scilly regular but if I go I usually go to Scilly for a week with other birders whilst my non-birding wife stays at home. I budget on the cost of the week costing £600-£700

£160 Chopper
£90 Diesel travelling from Liverpool & back
£35 parking
£120 Accommodation Sharing a house £600 a week shared by 5
£140 Food & Drink (very conservative estimate)
£20 food en route both ways.

On the other hand 1 week for two All Inclusive at the Intercontinental Hotel at Taba Heights £1258 and lot of brownie points

Have no kids so never travel when the kids are holiday, its just so much more

Good Luck
