Thank you Daniel. Very interesting article. Still digesting but I have a knee jerk reaction to being told to not follow the code to save the birds. "Confusion over taxonomic revision or disagreement can hamper conservation "

Seriamas are raptors? I know they are basal to the Australaves clade but not to the point of being seen as raptor
Raptors aren't a clade anyway; they define it by behaviour / diet (look at the article). Seriemas show strong convergent evolution with Secretarybird Sagittarius serpentarius :t:
