Question about merganser feeding behavior (1 Viewer)

jmepler

It's just a flesh wound.

Has anyone ever seen Hooded or Common Mergansers put their face in the water to look for food from the surface.

I have seen Red-breasted Mergansers doing this frequently, but I cannot recall ever seeing the other mergansers do it.
