Phuket birding areas and Shri Phang Nga in August (1 Viewer)

Hello birders

July and August 2015 I am going on a family trip for 5 weeks spending 3 weeks in Sabah, Malaysian Borneo and ending 2 weeks at Kamala Beach, Phuket.

Never been to Phuket or even Thailand for birding so I am wandering what options I have for a 2 or 3 days birding trip. Shri Phang Nga sounds really nice and an easy entry coming from Phuket but what about the weather and birdactivity in Late july/start August?

As I am staying on the West Coast of Phuket (Kamala Beach). Are there any parks, mangrove forest close by with reasonable bird activity or a good place in Phuket to find various kingfishers?

Lastly, any good local guides that has Sri Phang Nga as their speciality?

Kind regards

Jakob, Denmark
