One afternoon in Taipei (1 Viewer)

Hi,

In August, I will be passing Taiwan and have a few hours to spend at, or hopefully outside, Taipei International airport. Is there a birdwatching place near the airport? I have 4-6 hours, so 1 hour by bus should be an OK distance.
Looking forward to your replies.

Reg.

I'd check out the Botanical Garden in Taipei. Malayan Tiger-heron is there and you should find Taiwan barbet as well. I haven't been in a while, so others might be better at telling you what else you might find.

An hour by bus should be able to get you into Taipei itself. Take a taxi to Taoyuan station and the high-speed rail into Taipei. Or if money's no object, take a cab from the airport.

If you had a guide picking you up and returning you, Wulai might be a possibility, but if it's in the afternoon things would probably be pretty quiet.
