Spoke to the Boss, I´m OK to say I´m in the Mediterranean, no where near where it might be a bit iffy.
This am woke to around 15 birds on the vessel, mostly the Western Yellow Wagtails, Barn Swallow, Spot Fly and the Shrike is still here. One I´m still working on (two pics on the cargo strap)as work does get in the way sometimes.

I reckon this is a Green Sandpiper, we also have what appears to be a Nightjar on board, think its roosting somewhere. Pied Flycatcher too

Slightly tricky given the bird is hunched up, but looks better for Wood sandpiper; yellow/green legs, barring extending down onto the flanks, quite well marked supercilium extending behind the eye. Your flycatcher also looks potentially interesting - grey shawl extending onto nape, quite bold eye-ring, long PP and slight boomerang shape to the white marking at base of the primaries, again tricky image but some features suggest female Collared. Tricky with these images (no offence) as some of these may be heightened by camera artefacts.
Excellent thread so far @Offman please keep it coming!

Tricky bird still, though I'd err towards Pied over Collared: white on outermost tail feather doesn't reach the tip, looks brown rather than grey on mantle, and tertials don't look broadly edged enough, but await feedback from others - it's a while since I've seen a spring female Collared!

Were still in transit, into very lumpy seas, sunny, NW 30+ Knts. Found this Collared Dove having a wee rest, along with a single wagtail.

Quick lunchtime session, Bittern, at range, along with a ´flava´´ Western Yellow Wagtail.
Had to dash in to grab my camera for the Bittern, it did try to land to no avail.

I'm wondering if the Bittern is more likely to be a heron spp? It looks quite long tied and dagger billed, and in combination with (possibly) an all dark uncontrasting appearance I wonder if it may be Purple heron?
You could very well be right, size very similar, ànd much more widely distributed around the Med. Its flight profile is a much better match too.
