Kookaburras also sound pretty eerieSounds most evil would have to go to Barn Owl, or at least one of the Barn Owls depending on your taxonomy.

The one I saw last month was pretty sedate.I don't know about looking evil, but I've been attacked by one. I nearly trod on one on the Anaso track that was sitting with its chick. The adult flew up and hovered right in front of my face clicking it's bill at me. I prefer the alter active name Diabolical Nightjar for that one 🙂
I had thought about that one as well. There are plenty of pictures of them covered in blood, which helps...For a more traditional contender, Southern Giant-Petrel...Anything that can stare down a Leopard Seal should not be considered kind: ML102866331 Southern Giant-Petrel Macaulay Library
I love this. This Green Woodpecker pic always gives me the creeps - like a ghost in a grainy Japanese VHS horror film...

All swans are scary.
I mean this one has teeth (serrations on it's bill, I'm not sure) and it does look menacing.I'll bring up a surprising contender in the African Spoonbill. Maybe they are not all evil, but this one gave me the stink eye:

When I say on the Anaso track, I did mean a clearing off to the side of it, so I was wandering around specifically looking for them to be fair. So I certainly don't blame it for attacking me!The one I saw last month was pretty sedate.

Of course, it wasn't right in the middle of the track, so nobody came close to disturbing it.
Stone curlew also look pretty evil... also make second most frightening sound to hear when walking European farmland in the dark, after the barn owl obviously.Griffon vulture looks pretty evil, though I think its larger brother the cinereous or the Andean condor of the new world vultures are more evil looking
