We attended Gilbert Plains, (West of Dauphin), to attend a baby shower for our new grand daughter.
It was a wonderful and eventful trip.
We didn't get a lot of time to go birding, most observations were made from the car and a sun deck.

Gilbert Plains 14-17 May

From a sun deck I could see a group of six large birds soaring about a mile or so north, wasn't able to identify them, but suspect they may have been Turkey Vultures.
A Mallard was nesting about 15' from the golf course dining room. Blended in very well.

Carman 18-23 May

We haven't done our usual walk for over a week, just been to busy. These observations are made at home and while driving.
Woke up one morning opened the living room drapes and noted that no birds were at our feeders. Then noticed the ginger cat laying at the base of our willow tree. This cat is quite the hunter. Looked in the willow tree to see the squirrel who had been raiding our seed feeders. Now the squirrel attends to gnaw at our metal peanut feeder for extended periods. I got a cup of water and threw water at the cat twice, this succeeded in moving the cat about 15 feet. The wife arrived at this time stepped outside and yelled at the cat once. It was off like a shot, haven't seen it since.
