madeira jan to see whales dolphins?hopefully?advice wanted (1 Viewer)

has anyone been to madeira please,i will be going in january and would like to see some whales or dolphins.dont hold much chance of seeing the monk seal as very hard anytime of year so told,will be stopping just outside funchal in hotel over looking the atlantic so be great if could get balcony views of these great creatures as never really seen any of them,any advice will be great cheers mal

I think hot spot for whales is rather Azores ?

Not the best time of year to go for cetaceans but a lovely place for some laid back birding. Monk Seals are notoriously difficult to see there.
