Running to 187 pages, the fifth annual bird report for Lesvos includes species accounts for all 329 species ever recorded from Lesvos and detailed accounts for those recorded during 2013. The report also includes many colour photographs and various updates on birding sites on the island and more general birding and visitor information.

As well as accounts for commoner species, records include details of the first ever Lesvos records of Red-crested Pochard, European Storm-petrel, Steppe Buzzard, Armenian Gull, Paddyfield Warbler, Richard’s Pipit and Yellow-breasted Bunting, as well as records of many rarer species and only the second record of Caspian Gull; the sixth record of White-tailed Eagle; seventh record of Common Crossbill; ninth record of Stock Dove; records of Ferruginous Duck, Griffon Vulture, Eastern Imperial Eagle, Bonelli’s Eagle, Baillon’s Crake, Spur-winged Plover Great Snipe, Terek Sandpiper, Calandra Lark and Common Rock-thrush; the second ever confirmed breeding record of White-throated Robin and further confirmed breeding records of Mallard and Common Starling; and much, much more.
